EdTech Denmark actively participates in EU-funded research and innovation projects, connecting Danish stakeholders with European partners. We are a bridge between Danish classrooms, municipalities and companies - and the European education innovation landscape.

BalancEd – Towards Meaningful and Balanced Use of Educational Technologies in European Classrooms

The BalancEd project addresses the urgent need for evidence-based guidance on how to use educational technologies (EdTech) in a way that supports both learning and well-being in primary and lower secondary schools. In a time where debates about screen time in education are deeply polarized — often reduced to simplistic "on/off" discussions — BalancEd seeks to find the middle ground by exploring when, how, and for whom digital tools meaningfully support pedagogical goals.

Through comparative user studies, evidence reviews, and collaborative design processes, the project aims to develop practical and research-based guidelines for balanced digital practice in classrooms across Europe. The project is coordinated by EdTech Denmark, an NGO that connects EdTech solution providers, educators, researchers, and municipalities, and brings together a strong multidisciplinary consortium including academic partners, municipalities, schools, and NGOs from Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Lithuania, and The Netherlands.
